Recife, October 2024 – Kokku has concluded another edition of its Embrace the Community program, aimed at selecting young talents. In 2024, the selection process reached a record number of applications: more than 400 candidates, including spontaneous applications and employee referrals.
The program, which aims to identify and develop talent, is one of Kokku’s initiatives focused on diversity: through training and professional development, it seeks to bring about a positive social impact on the lives of the selected young people. Seven candidates were chosen to join the team in strategic departments of the company, filling positions in finance, administration, human resources, creative, and information technology sectors.
The selection process consisted of four stages, including interviews with the human resources department, technical interviews for each specific role, and finally, detailed feedback for all participants.
“In the first phase of the selection, we gave each candidate the opportunity to introduce themselves, as we wanted to hear and get to know them,” explained Cadu Oliveira, Tech Recruiter at Kokku. “As the process advanced, we sought to match candidates with the open positions and directed them to interviews with the technical managers accordingly.”
The penultimate stage took place in person at Kokku’s studio in Recife, where 25 finalists were invited to get a feel for the company’s work environment. The candidates interacted in a space equipped with games, snacks, and moments of relaxation, providing an immersive experience in Kokku’s welcoming and creative culture.
“It was very interesting to observe the enthusiasm of all the participants during the selection process. When we explained the activities they would perform and the benefits they would receive, it became evident that the program truly serves as an opportunity to change their lives,” emphasized Cadu Oliveira.
The younger selected will undergo 10 days of training at the Center for Company-School Integration (CIEE) and will be ready to start working at Kokku’s studio in Recife on October 29th, with contracts extending until the second half of 2026. A unique aspect of the program is the possibility of switching departments during this period, allowing new employees to experience different roles and broaden their multidisciplinary training.
Beatriz Iharetezza, hired in the first edition of the program, began in the human resources department and is now gaining experience in the technology sector: “It’s an area I’ve always been interested in, and today I have the chance to learn about it and advance my career,” celebrates the apprentice.
As it marks its first year, the Embrace the Community program proves to be a successful initiative: out of the four selected in 2023, three have already been hired full-time by Kokku.
Guilherme Silva secured a position in the Information Technology department after nine months, due to a combination of affinity for the field, dedication, and professional guidance from the technical manager. “Kokku changed my life, my story, and my family’s story,” says Guilherme.
For the new colleagues about to receive the same opportunity, the current IT Helpdesk at Kokku advises: “I encourage the selected young apprentices to give their best, strive hard, make their families proud, and change their trajectory.”
