Since 2023, Kokku has partnered with Maxis Studios – Electronic Arts on The Sims 4. The collaboration bridges two major fronts: the modernization of its legacy technology and the continuous evolution of the iconic franchise live services .
Our Engineering, Production, and QA teams worked to modernize the game’s core systems: upgrading it from DirectX9 to DirectX11, enhancing graphics and gameplay performance, and optimizing builds for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac. These improvements revitalized the game’s technical foundation while preserving its original identity.
In an ongoing collaboration, Kokku continues to play a key role in the game’s live service operations, supporting The Sims 4 new expansion packs, seasonal events, and in-game content that keep players engaged. Our teams contribute to engineering tools, UI/UX refinements, and production workflows that ensure consistency, quality, and scalability across updates.
